Pi’ilani Partners’ zoning request comes before County Council 9 AM Thursday, March 28, at the West Hawaii Civic Center with video hookup to remote sites. See the agenda here. The zoning request is still alive, though the Planning Commission recently denied the bottling plant a Special Management Area permit. But Pi’ilani may appeal, and if they win, will use any zoning approval to build the plant. We oppose the bottling plant, and have concerns about the appropriateness of a time extension on the zoning, and about lack of disclosure of ties between Councilmember Kierkiewicz and the landowner.
