They still need permits for their injection wells, stormwater, and ash disposal. A challenge by Life of the Land to their Power Purchase Agreement with HELCO is awaiting a Hawai’i Supreme Court decision. Jaerick Garcia-Medeiros of the Pepe’eko Fisherman Association raised concerns about effects of Hu Honua injection wells and wastewater on ocean life.
